Ireland World Cup Stop
September 7-9 - Enniskillen, Northern Ireland

Ireland, one of my favorite places in the world for sure, and it has a lot to do with the people. They have to be some of the most jolly and just overall friendly people in the world! I was excited about the Enniskillen World Cup Stop because this had always been a good place for me, and we always have a great crowd. The somewhat bumpy conditions in Ireland have always worked well for me, and I was ready for a better finish in Ireland. This tournament was also very special because my dad’s mother, my Memaw, had come all the way from Texas to visit Ireland and see me ski! It was an honor for her to be there to watch me, and I was so happy she fulfilled one of her dreams of seeing the beautiful country of Ireland. She was a real trooper, because traveling is not that easy these days, particularly when you are an elderly person, but she had the best attitude!

My performance was not really bad, in fact I skied to the same level as all of the women, but I barely missed the cut again! I would have to settle for 6th place, after a controversial call from the judges, because the first called score would have placed me in 5th. I was very disappointed to sit out on finals day again, but I tried to keep my spirits up and drink some Magner’s Cider and enjoy Ireland!
